Trump harps it when he fears he is about to lose or when he has actually lost. When he wins, he is confident that only citizens voted and the votes were counted correctly. When he loses or fears he is going to lose, non-citizens are crowding into the voting booths and the election workers are double-counting and passing around USB drives. It's all Trump propaganda ... or Trump talking point.

I really enjoyed this analysis and it brought me back to my days in local government when I used Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics data to analyze both public policy and operational decisions. The critical importance of the accuracy and demonstrated credibility of these data sources cannot be overstated.

Thanks Justin, The facts you cite should be good ammunition for Dems (or for that matter, anyone) when MAGA Republicans cite the referenced Census bureau report. The production of this report is another example of the President using federal agencies to promulgate lies and propaganda or take actions not authorized by law. No reason to believe that a future president(s) won't do the same. It would be great if our legislators would start cutting back on the vast bureaucracy, even the census bureau. All of the work done by the bureau could be done by private firms and governments and, importantly, the public would be able to assess their output. This process would be much more effective at stopping presidents from politicizing federal agencies than the civil service laws have been, particularly given the Supreme Court's decisions entrenching the "Unitary Executive."
