To me the most dangerous grade is the F on national security. Russia sent a drone to destroy a Ukrainian plane parked at the airport in Leipzig, Germany. Netanyahu is now threatening Iran with annihilation. Taiwan is gearing up for a Chinese invasion. Trump is reducing our military involvement with S. Korea and Japan. And Trump’s pissed off Canada, a big supplier of oil, electricity, steel and aluminum, as well as potash used in fertilizer. In other words, one man, Donald Trump has managed to take us beyond mere incompetence to possibly dragging us into WWIII, akin to the mistakes it took multiple leaders to make that led to WWI.
May we add to the Factory grade evaluation: manufacturing employment? At https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/MANEMP you can dial your range; try from 2006 to latest data. Obvi the mid-20aughts Recession hurt that employment but we were slowly growing back under Obama and even under Trump 45, until COVID. Under Biden we again got back on track, with manufacturing employment finally exceeding pre-Covid level, but then drifting lower during 2024. There was a slight (brief!) blip upward right when Trump was elected to be 47, then the downward drift resumed. The figure may now be on a plateau, back where we were at midpoint of Trump's first term. Overall, during the almost 2 years of Trump 47, manufacturing employment has been below the last couple years of Biden's presidency and it's NOT trending up. Considering this additional factor, can we tweak his Factories grade to F-?

When other countries put on a 3% tariff for a US product, how is this any different to the ultimate consumer than a 3% credit card surcharge for purchases (in their local currency) but instead of using a credit card you’re just paying a 3% dollar surcharge for a dollar denominated product, or even like the surcharge the regular joes pay to convert currency in vacation.

I used to think the US deserved the president who was elected, no matter if I agreed with their politics or not.
I don't think we as a country, or even any country in the world, ever deserved the Tangerine Palpatine as Commander in Cheat.
