Prof Wolfers is spot on. We have 'leadership' in America that doesn't understand how to navigate these matters at all. The only thing Trump/MAGA have done is worsen everything for Americans and American companies and it will take decades for us to recover. These harms are emblematic of the general 'sell America' sentiment within the international community. MAGA is grifting us into a developing nation. MADNA Make America a Developing Nation Again.

No nation could be expected to enter into a Trade Agreement with the US longer than 40 months in its term ever again. It doesn't matter who the President may be, the rest of the world has learned that no President can bind the next President and the Congress and the Supreme Court have implicitly ratified this status. It doesn't matter what the agreement says, any compliance is discretionary with the unitary executive. You might get the perfect husband but only on a 4-year term.
