What You Missed — Last Week in Economics
What's next for the Fed, our K-shaped economy, and the spiraling costs of war
Catch up on my guest appearance from last week’s episode of It’s Happening With Velshi and Ruhle.
I had fun filling in for Stephanie and chatting with Ali about the week’s biggest stories in economics and politics, including:
What Kevin Warsh’s confirmation means for the future of the Fed,
How spiking energy costs feed into inflation for producers versus consumers (nerdy…I know),
Why consumer sentiment keeps diverging from stock market headlines, and
The ongoing economic fallout from war with Iran — from oil prices to newly exposed geopolitical vulnerabilities.
Don’t forget to subscribe and share, and look out for more original content later this week!

Beautiful thoughts about economic cooperation fromJustin to Emma.
Action-packed---that's what this is. Love to hear you together with Velshi. Your discussion of "Handsome Kevin" reminded me that appearances still seem to play an enormous role in our estimations of people---even though we pretend they don't. And sex. Because, you know, I think that Trump thinks that Kevin is "hot." Which reminds me of a Sylvia cartoon from 1983 in which the TV newsperson announces: "Sexual burnout is the new national worry." and Sylvia says: "Good. I'm tired of inflation." You talked about the stock market that responds to Trump's posts----but why---why do traders trade based on lies when they know they are lies? And, finally, the new Ebola outbreak in the Congo reminded me of an old Randy Newman song that's worth checking out: The Great Nations of Europe in the 16th Century. Emma has my vote. Dire Straits are the best sort. Happy whatever day of the week this is.
