I wish republican members of congress were listening to you and would start doing their job asking tough questions of the regime, and holding them accountable, but I'm guessing it won't happen. So, we all need to do what we can to make sure the house and the senate flip and leadership changes.

I suspect the Rs are counting on voter purges, gerrymandering, voter intimidation and legal challenges of fraud in the races they lose….

I'm glad I signed up for this. I may not become an economics master but I know more now than in just over a week ago. At 77 I'm quite proud of the fact that I'm finally "getting it!" ('-')

I love this! Welcome to my field. I hope you keep getting it.

I believe they all think he is still going to be the the President after the next election

Yes, I'm afraid they do and with good reason. He's walked all over the politics in America with hobnails boots! Gutted any department that can stop him grifting, They have no reason to doubt he can pull off a coup this time that will work. He has all his ducks in a row. Private Army, complicit senate and congress, control of the Justice system, control of the US military. All the billionaires willing to help. If he can't pull it off it won't be because didn't try.

I've been trying to understand "a bet is a tax on bullshit." I clicked on the link and read the post. Still not sure if I understand. Are you saying that when you are willing to bet---to risk something---then you have an incentive to make sure that you have the most accurate information---that you want to base your prediction on the fairest, most accurate data so that you win the bet? Perhaps.....that could be called a tax?

Yup. Bullshitting causes you to lose a bet, and you lose money. It's that loss I'm calling a tax.
