The tariffs Ottawa and Washington traded today are small change. What we're actually spending is Canada's belief that we're a country worth building a factory next to.
Justin. Please do a piece about the side letter for autos. The US and Canada addressed s. 232 tariffs and agreed to terms. Including a period for negotiation, quotas, and a maximum rate of 2.5%. And a right for Canada to respond on commercially similar terms. The US violated these terms when it imposed s. 232 tariffs. When Greer says the s. 232 tariffs are lawful, he hides behind a pretextual technicality and avoids addressing this key agreement. Rosemary Barton seemed unaware of its contents when she interviewed Greer. This agreement, signed with USMCA, , shows, almost more than the treaty itself because of its precise content, that the US signs in pencil. By ignoring the side letter and its terms, Greer puts the US on higher ground with the US public than it should be. The side letter deserves attention by the media.
As a "senior" American, the Canada tariffs, attacks on NATO and the EU, killing people without reason or cause, and more make us feel like our country is going through a "separation" from the world while we deal with a family mental health crisis. I hope that we quickly deal with the sundowning crisis in leadership supported by the Republican Party before we enter into a damaging and costly "divorce" from our allies.
Clearly, there is no economic or global competence at the helm in America at the moment. There is little reason for the rest of the world to trust Americans will right this terrible abuse of our reputation given the fact that 30% of people in this country still support Republicans and their trump tyranny. But my daily prayer is that more and more American people become aware and revolt against this regime that is destroying decades of progress for the selfish benefit of Republican oligarchs. I apologize to those people and countries who have been friends and allies for so long.
Excellent professor Thank you
